This page explains how users of the Borderless Education Council app
and website can request deletion of their account and associated data.
HOW TO REQUEST ACCOUNT DELETION
Email privacy@borderlesseducationcouncil.org with the subject
“Account Deletion Request”, including your registered email address
or username. You can also send the request via our contact page:
HOW TO DELETE SOME DATA WITHOUT DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT
You may request deletion of specific data only (for example your
push-notification subscription or profile details) by emailing the
same address with the subject “Data Deletion Request”. You can also
remove push notifications yourself anytime via your device’s site
settings (“Clear & reset”).
WHAT DATA IS DELETED
– Account details: name, username, email address, password (hashed)
– Profile information and preferences
– Push notification subscription tokens
WHAT DATA MAY BE KEPT, AND FOR HOW LONG
– Billing records for paid assessments, kept only as long as required
for legal/tax compliance (up to 7 years)
– Anonymised statistics that cannot identify you
TIMEFRAME
Verified deletion requests are completed within 30 days and confirmed
by email.
