BEC facilitates academic assessments, teacher assessment programs, institutional associateships, and educational development initiatives for eligible schools, universities, and higher education institutions across Asia and other regions, through its registered headquarters in India, subject to applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and program-specific conditions.

The Borderless Education Council is a private, independent educational organization and does not represent itself as a government department or statutory education authority. Unless specifically established through valid authorization, its programs and certificates should not be interpreted as government accreditation, statutory recognition, academic degree equivalence, or authorization to award regulated qualifications.
Participation in BEC programs does not replace any approval, registration, accreditation, or recognition required by the relevant authorities in an Asian country. Institutions and participants are responsible for verifying the applicability of BEC programs and credentials under the laws and regulations governing their activities.

Member schools are measured against the Borderless Education Council's core standards. As part of the membership application process, details with criteria for each standard are provided with further details about the standards.
