Terms and Conditions – BEC Assessment Evaluation Team

Borderless Education Council (BEC)
Effective Date: 24-10-2026
Last Updated: 23-10-2026

1. Introduction and Acceptance

These Terms and Conditions govern registration with the Borderless Education Council (BEC) Assessment Evaluation Team and participation in any assessment evaluation, grading, reporting, or related academic assignment offered by BEC.

By submitting the registration form, applicants acknowledge that they have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms apply to the registration process and, where applicable, should be read together with the separate instructions, assignment offer, or agreement issued for a particular assignment.

2. Nature of Engagement: Assignment-Based Work Only

IMPORTANT: Registration is for consideration for assignment-based work. It is not an offer of permanent employment or a full-time salaried job.

BEC may register teachers, educators, subject specialists, and academic professionals for consideration for individual assignments involving academic evaluation and reporting.

Such assignments may include:

  • Checking completed BEC student assessment papers and tests.
  • Evaluating objective and descriptive answers according to approved marking guidelines.
  • Calculating marks and assigning grades such as A, B, C, or other grades under the applicable grading framework.
  • Preparing student assessment reports and performance summaries.
  • Verifying marks, grades, and result records.
  • Undertaking other related academic evaluation tasks specifically assigned by BEC.

Registration does not guarantee an assignment, selection, regular work, a minimum number of assignments, or any particular level of income.

Unless expressly agreed in a separate written agreement, registration does not create a permanent, full-time, part-time, or salaried employment position.

The actual legal classification of an engagement will depend on the applicable law and the substance of the working arrangement, not solely on the terminology used in these Terms.

3. Registration and Eligibility

Applicants must provide accurate and complete information concerning their identity, qualifications, professional experience, subject expertise, and contact details.

BEC may review an application and request additional information or supporting documents to assess suitability.

BEC reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to accept, decline, defer, or close a registration based on its operational requirements, assignment availability, verification results, or other relevant considerations.

Registration does not establish an exclusive relationship between the applicant and BEC.

4. Assignment Allocation

Assignments may be offered based on:

  • Relevant academic qualifications and experience.
  • Subject and grade-level expertise.
  • The nature and volume of assessments requiring evaluation.
  • Availability and ability to meet the assigned deadline.
  • Previous assignment performance, where applicable.
  • BEC’s academic and operational requirements.

BEC is not obligated to offer assignments to every registered educator.

Educators may accept or decline an offered assignment before confirming their participation. Once an assignment has been accepted, the educator must comply with the agreed scope, deadlines, deliverables, and applicable instructions, subject to the terms of the assignment.

5. Scope of Work and Assignment Instructions

Each assignment may specify:

  1. The subject and grade level.
  2. The number or type of assessments to be checked.
  3. The applicable answer key, marking scheme, and grading framework.
  4. The expected report format and required deliverables.
  5. The submission deadline.
  6. The agreed remuneration and payment terms, if the assignment is paid.
  7. Any additional confidentiality, verification, or quality-control requirements.

Educators must not expand or materially change the scope of an assignment without appropriate authorization from BEC.

Any change in scope, deadline, or remuneration should be agreed in writing.

6. Remuneration and Payment

Remuneration, where applicable, will be determined on an assignment basis and communicated before the educator accepts the relevant assignment.

Payment may depend on the agreed deliverables, completion of the assigned work, submission of required records, and any reasonable quality-verification procedure communicated in advance.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing:

  • There is no fixed monthly salary.
  • There is no guarantee of minimum earnings or continuous paid work.
  • Registration alone does not entitle an applicant to payment.
  • Remuneration is linked to the specific assignment and its agreed terms.
  • Any applicable tax obligations will be handled in accordance with the law and the relevant arrangement.

BEC will communicate applicable payment procedures and timelines in the assignment offer or agreement.

7. Assessment Evaluation and Grading Standards

Educators must evaluate assessments objectively, consistently, and accurately in accordance with BEC’s applicable answer keys, marking schemes, grading policies, and assignment instructions.

Educators must not:

  • Alter marks or grades without a valid basis under the applicable evaluation guidelines.
  • Give preferential treatment to a student or institution.
  • Fabricate scores, reports, or evaluation records.
  • Deliberately manipulate results.
  • Disclose assessment answers or confidential materials without authorization.
  • Represent preliminary results as officially approved results where further verification is required.

Where an answer is ambiguous, an answer key appears incorrect, or an exceptional case arises, the educator must refer the matter to the designated BEC authority rather than make an unauthorized policy change.

BEC may review submitted work for accuracy and compliance with the assigned requirements.

8. Submission, Review, and Corrections

Educators must submit completed assignments in the prescribed format and within the agreed deadline.

Where errors, omissions, inconsistencies, or deviations from the marking guidelines are identified, BEC may request reasonable corrections or clarification within an appropriate timeframe.

The assignment offer should specify any applicable review or correction process.

Any additional work beyond the original scope should be discussed and agreed upon separately where appropriate.

9. Confidentiality

All assessment papers, answer keys, student responses, scores, grades, reports, institutional records, and non-public BEC materials provided for an assignment must be treated as confidential.

Educators must:

  • Use confidential materials only for the assigned purpose.
  • Keep login credentials and access links secure.
  • Avoid downloading, copying, or retaining materials beyond what is authorized.
  • Not share student information or assessment content with unauthorized persons.
  • Not publish assessment materials, answer keys, or student results on social media or other public platforms.
  • Notify BEC promptly if confidential information is lost, disclosed, or accessed without authorization.

These confidentiality obligations continue after the completion or termination of an assignment, subject to applicable law.

10. Ownership and Use of Work Products

Unless a separate written agreement or applicable law provides otherwise, reports, grading records, and other deliverables created specifically for a BEC assignment may be used by BEC for the purposes identified in the assignment.

Ownership and permitted use of intellectual property will be determined by the applicable agreement and law. These Terms do not automatically transfer ownership of an educator’s pre-existing materials or independently developed intellectual property.

Educators must not reuse or distribute BEC’s confidential assessment materials or student records for unauthorized purposes.

11. Professional Conduct and Conflicts of Interest

Educators must act professionally, maintain impartiality, and disclose any actual conflict of interest that could affect the fairness or reliability of an evaluation.

Where an educator has a personal or professional relationship with a student or another relevant party that could compromise impartiality, the educator must inform BEC and follow its instructions.

BEC may reassign an evaluation or take other reasonable steps to protect assessment integrity.

12. No Guarantee of Future Work

BEC does not guarantee continued engagement, recurring assignments, a particular workload, or future assignment offers.

An educator’s registration may remain available for consideration for future assignments, subject to applicable privacy and retention requirements.

The completion of one assignment does not create an automatic entitlement to another assignment.

13. Cancellation, Withdrawal, and Termination

An educator may decline an assignment before accepting it.

After acceptance, either party should communicate any proposed withdrawal or cancellation promptly and follow the applicable assignment agreement.

BEC may suspend access to assessment materials, cancel an assignment, or discontinue offering future assignments where there is a material breach of instructions, confidentiality requirements, evaluation standards, or other applicable terms, subject to the relevant agreement and applicable law.

Remuneration for work already completed, accepted, or otherwise payable will be handled according to the assignment agreement and applicable law. Cancellation terms and any payment due for partially completed work should be specified in the relevant assignment offer.

14. Data Protection

BEC may collect and process registration information and assignment-related records for application review, assignment allocation, communication, verification, payment administration, record-keeping, and other legitimate purposes described in its Privacy Policy.

Educators must handle student and institutional data only as authorized and in accordance with BEC’s instructions and applicable data-protection laws.

Applicants should read the Privacy Policy – BEC Assessment Evaluation Team before submitting their registration.

15. Independent and Private Organizational Status

Borderless Education Council (BEC) operates as an independent, privately operated educational organization.

Participation in the Assessment Evaluation Team does not, by itself, confer government appointment, statutory status, or authority to issue government qualifications or academic degrees.

Educators must not make unauthorized representations about BEC, its programs, its institutional relationships, or the official status of any assessment or certificate.

16. Limitation and Responsibility

Educators are responsible for performing accepted assignments with reasonable care, accuracy, impartiality, and professional diligence.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Any additional liability, indemnity, or dispute-related terms must be established in a valid agreement and interpreted in accordance with applicable law.

17. Amendments

BEC may update these Terms to reflect changes in its procedures, assessment programs, assignment arrangements, or legal requirements.

The updated version will be published on the relevant BEC website with a revised update date.

Changes to the terms of an already accepted assignment should be communicated and handled in accordance with the applicable assignment agreement and law.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are subject to applicable law. Any governing-law or jurisdiction clause for an assignment should be stated clearly in the applicable agreement after appropriate legal review.

The parties should first attempt to resolve assignment-related concerns through good-faith communication. This does not prevent either party from exercising any legal rights or remedies available under applicable law.
